WHO WE ARE

Purpose

HIGH Day exists as an affordable, multi-family co-op to encourage and equip homeschool families in a Christ-centered environment by:

  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment for our families with other like-minded families.
  • Fostering a life-long love for learning.
  • Offering fun and creative enrichment activities.
  • Sharing gifts, talents and resources.
  • Developing meaningful and lasting relationships.
  • Encouraging other homeschooling families as they seek to honor God through the training of their children.

What HIGH Day is

  • HIGH Day is a Friday morning gathering at Conway First Baptist Church.
    4000 S Conway Rd, Orlando, FL 32812.
  • It consists of two 12-week sessions beginning in September and ending in April.
  • It includes activities and enrichment classes for children from kindergarten to high school (nursery and pre-K activities are available for younger siblings).
  • It offers classes taught by moms and skilled guests in age/grade-level formats.
  • A variety of classes are available to allow interests and abilities to flourish.
  • HIGH Day blesses families by drawing on the unique skills of adults not necessarily available in every home school (i.e., arts, unit studies, writing, science experiments) and providing activities dependent on the large group for success (i.e., P.E., drama, speech, foreign language).

What HIGH Day is not

  • HIGH Day is NOT a school, a for-profit group, or a drop-off day care. One parent is required to stay and participate as a teacher or helper every HIGH Day.
  • Core subjects will not necessarily be covered.
  • HIGH Day does not propose to fill-in core academic gaps. The purpose is for enrichment.
  • We do not provide legal and/or official accreditation.
  • HIGH Day is NOT a church. Members need to be spiritually fed at their local church. We recognize parents as the spiritual authorities in the lives of their children and therefore will not seek to promote doctrine or theology that may be controversial but will leave that to the parents.
